The brief
A covered lounge beside the pool.
This Riverhead project places a covered outdoor lounge beside the pool. The gable form gives the pavilion height and symmetry, while the black frame keeps the structure sharp against the surrounding landscape and modern home.
The design
Timber and light overhead.
Timber sarking gives the gable a finished ceiling, with skillion insulation above. Recessed downlights and warm LED lighting along the edges are integrated into the roof rather than added as separate fixtures.
The design
Open towards the garden.
The gable brings height and symmetry to the seating area. Aluminium and steel framing carries the roof, with open gable ends and sides keeping the pool and landscape in view.
