A patio and carport using insulated and acrylic roof zones around a complex house.

Brief
Resolve a combined patio and carport around the house geometry while retaining daylight through the entry and circulation zones.
Response
Over the outdoor dining area we used insulated roof panels with timber sarking underneath for a warm, ceiling-like finish. Around the circulation and front door zones we switched to opal acrylic roofing with timber battens in response to the daylight brief.

Technical details
Roof composition
Insulated roof panels with timber sarking create a ceiling-like finish above the dining area. Opal acrylic and timber battens cover the circulation and front door zones, with light grey acrylic used in another part of the roof.

Screening and outlook
Mesh blinds were added along one side identified in the project brief for wind and privacy. The covered area remains open towards the coastal outlook.
